Jim Benson

President

Jim Benson discovered his love for building while on the path to another career. To pay his way through graduate school, where he earned a Master’s of Business Administration, Jim learned the ins and outs of the carpentry business. That experience compelled him to use his education to pursue becoming a top-notch builder.

After getting his MBA, Jim continued his education in the contracting arena, eventually becoming designated as a Certified Graduate Remodeler and a Graduate Master Builder by the National Association of Home Builders and the National Remodelers Council. He has also earned his Certified Aging in Place (CAPS) designation which gives him the expertise to help homeowners transition their homes for living in a familiar environment throughout their maturing years.

Over his 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Jim has put that knowledge to good use. His company, Benson Homes LLC, strives to provide clients with the highest quality of workmanship and customer service. Perhaps that’s why his work in the Hampton Roads area has earned him numerous local and national awards.

When Jim is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife Linda and their 5 children.
